Registered to Kepler Aerospace on 1st November, ZA147/148/150&ZD241asN147/8/150&N241ZD, Intention for '241 to fly!! seriously We can dream.Any further info welcome.

We sure can hope, I'd love to see ZA147 'F' fly again. Followed me about all over the place, never forget sitting on a beach in Lanzarote and seeing that unmistakable VC10 silhouette through the binos

A press release from Kepler Aerospace, quotes unnamed sources about a deal including Kepler Aerospace. And still manages to get their own name wrong.

"Sources close to the deal say that two further VC10’s ZD241 and ZD147, stored at Bruntingthorpe, are also to be acquired by Keplar Aerospace."

Noticed that - also ZD147 is an incorrect reg. ZA147

Same thing woth the tristars, but they also will never fly again. Aircraft have to be owned by somebody, even if they are to be dismantled and have parts serviced or sold. Dont get excited. They do not have any qualified service engineers certified on the type anymore.

Given the VC10 does not have any approved support organisation or Design Authority to be able to certify the aircraft for flight and provide certified support, they won't be flying anytime soon!

That's why you put them on the US register in the homebuilt and/or experimental classes.

Oh agreed yes, having spent a fair bit of time in the USA for aviation reasons, the spectrum of aircraft on the experimental register is quite something. For various reasons though I still cannot see this happening. The article is (very) light on detail, and why choose the VC10, for example? (apart from 1 obvious benefit, dependent on the use) when there are a whole load of younger and supported retired airliners out there.

Why not obtain KC-135 ?
Can not be long before France retire theirs ? What happened to the Singapore Air Force examples ? With Saudi using A330 how many KE-3 are still in service ?
Not suggesting any of these airframes are available but compared to the issues of returning a single VC-10 to service ??
