The passing of Barry Masefield

Post by XH558 » Fri Oct 15, 2021 2:08 pm

RIP Barry Masefield who sadly lost his battle earlier this morning.

Barry was a dedicated and well respected member of 558 (VTTS) in his later years but retired from the RAF in 1994 as a Squadron Leader.

I have fond memories of Barry during my time with the RAF under his command, a true gentleman.

RIP Barry, Blue Skies. Per Ardua ad Astra.

(No VTTS waffle in this thread please..)

Ah that's a shame, always remember his face as he stepped off 558 after the return to flight at Bruntingthorpe back in 2007 - Sheer delight.

Saddened to read of this.
I met Barry a few times during my years on the V Force.
A fine, knowledgeable, and much respected Officer and gentleman.
Critically observing Pension regulatory activity... :D

R.I.P. Barry Masefield. Sad to think we've also lost Robert Pleming recently as well.
