Sculthorpe viewing - good spots?
Sculthorpe viewing - good spots?
Hi all, I’m thinking of popping up from Norwich to see if I can see some of the regular 352nd SOG activities one evening. Does anyone know of any good places to view? I’m not a photographer so I don’t require anything too specific. Any help much appreciated. Ta
Re: Sculthorpe viewing - good spots?
Last time I viewed aircraft at Sculthorpe was about 1953! Small USAF jets with wing tanks (T33?). However, I see from Google Earth that there is a lay-by on the main road just at the western end of the airfield, which might give good viewing or at least enable you to walk to somewhere better. Hopefully, someone will be more help!
Re: Sculthorpe viewing - good spots?
Hedge at 'Snoops layby' is now very thick/high after 68 yrs growth ! Scullys not that easy - depends how near you want etc . Best opportunities now probably in industrial units area accessed via old main entrance off B1454 . Suggest you contact the guys at the Heritage Centre who have local knowledge and are very helpful . https://www.rafsculthorpeheritagecentre.org/ Have fun .

Re: Sculthorpe viewing - good spots?
Sorry probably too late but last time I was there I parked in the small lay-by on New Road/Creak Road. There is a farmers gate which you can walk around and you then walk down the lane until you reach the airfield.
