Voyager and E-3

Post by reaper493 » Thu Jun 03, 2021 10:51 am

Question, can the Voyager refuel the E3?

I've never seen or heard of it happening, not sure if they were ever cleared to refuel them?
Have seen them meet up with KC135s many times, but never a Voyager.
Can't find anything on the interweb.

Cheers

Mike

I don't think the E-3D is cleared to refuel from any hose and drogue type refuelling platform any more.

That's what I thought, can find any date when it stopped, possible when the Vc-10/Tristar retired.

It's still cleared for Voyager FRU-based probe refuelling, but only from the booms of NATO aircraft. Crew currency is a very different matter though.
