Now the Army CH-47 have cancelled to Northolt it will be interesting to see what supports the VH-3s for the Windsor leg? When trump visited it was 2x VH-60 and a Merlin HC3A
Hi, I will stick my neck out here!….In my opinion, you don’t need 4x MV22’s to accompany 2 VH-3s from Newquay to St Ives/Carbis bay etc, etc. In respect of this,(now that the Chinooks have apparently cancelled),I am wondering,(hoping),that 1 poss 2 MV22’s may now position to Northolt for the LHR-Windsor-LHR section of Bidens visit. There will be a police helicopter escort as well, but I’m sure that the US will want there own security guys on hand very quickly if a situation arises! If I remember from Trumps visit, many of these guys travelled in the Chinooks, with regular soldiers/airmen…..assume time will tell.

I don't suppose spotters' wishes are a factor in the security plans.

From the Biden White House schedule.

13:10 British Summer Time (8:10 AM Washington DC Time)

Official Schedule
The President and The First Lady depart the White House en route Joint Base Andrews
The Ellipse

13:30 British Summer Time (8:30 AM Washinton DC Time)

Official Schedule
The President and The First Lady depart Joint Base Andrews en route Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom
Joint Base Andrews

Full time line at following.

https://factba.se/biden/calendar/

You can watch the Nighthawk/Marine One arrival/departure on the White House live webcam. (Ignore the live chat. It is full of crazy Trump supporters that believe Trump still has AF1/Marine One and that Biden is flying about on a fake AF1/Marine One, or that it is all CGI. :D )

You can listen to them live on the helo frequency for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

'KDCA Tower (Helicopters)'

AF1 will likely appear on.

On a beautiful summer's evening, a helicopter sight seeing flight from MHZ to NQY would probably be an amazing experience for the old boy.
Really?? Quick question. Is there such a thing as Presidential NVG's as I believe the published UK Schedule is BST. & has him transiting MHZ to NQY in the dark?
Clearly someone who is unaware of the time that daylight fades. At 2130 up here it is still light plus does it need to be daylight to conduct a sight seeing flight, presumably you have never been to Las Vegas.

We will find out in less than 12 hours time

I wouldn't worry too much about the apparent flight time between Mildenhall and Newquay as the Biden arrival time could be different to the wheels down time

Thursday, June 10, 2021
The President and First Lady will meet with The Right Honorable Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Mrs. Carrie Johnson. The First Lady and Mrs. Johnson will meet separately over tea and then tour St. Michael’s Mount off the coast of Cornwall.

According to the local paper they will then travel to London to meet HM The Queen, so possibly AF1 stays at mildenhall and all POTUS trips are by helicopter.

C-32A 09-0016 is on its way to Mildenhall from Andrews so he might use that for more local trips.

If the President and First Lady were flying by helicopter from Mildenhall to Cornwall why would the schedule have them arriving at Newquay? Surely they would go direct to their residence for the night. They must be using Air Force 1 from Mildenhall in to Newquay, whether it's a VC-25 or C-32. Then helicopters/MV-22s from there to hotel.
Also think that AF1 (VC-25/C-32) will then fly to Heathrow on Sunday, and then helicopters across to Windsor for tea with the queen.

AF1 currently showing on the transponder for VC-25A 82-8000. That will be the first time since March 2020.

Just as a matter of interest, has anybody kept a list of every US aircraft involved with this so far? From the countless C-17s and KC-130s to the helicopters - the numbers must be staggering? There's been flights into about 8 different airfields too?
The Vulcan has this log of aircraft that are currently at each position

Thanks, I'd seen that, but they're (for perfectly understandable reasons) removing aircraft once they move on. I'd really like to know how many flights there have been in total as the number just seems crazy - I'm sure the two C-17s I saw into Stansted on Bank Holiday Monday were part of this this as they reportedly offloaded vehicles and there's been many more every day since then.
Don't worry LN Strike Eagle I'm currently working on a daily Movements thread just trying to make the format neat I believe the first RCH flights came in on the 31st of may?

Might this have been the first? It was after Sec. Blinken's visit to Brussels to talk to NATO

Apparently your post has received royal approval

What's your best guess on the Windsor helicopter support ?
a) US Army choppers
b) USMC MV-22 up from Cornwall ( perhaps 2 of the four?)
c) no support - just VH-3 with a police escort
d) The Beast - bit unlikely or a combo of choppers and car
e) anything else - CV-22? Or a RAF Puma :)
