There's also at least one Victor K2 Tanker centre-line hose from a Mk17B HDU in the Wash area too, - obviously in a clear, designated 'drop-zone'.
They were supposed to be released at full trail, by detonating a small ring of explosive 'guillotine bolts' which mate the hose end to the Drum Unit.
There are reports of where, even after activation, the wind forced drogue doesn't pull the hose clear; then the fun starts...
It was also be interesting to watch a night landing with a hose trailed at max extension; a few sparks at times --- Don't use the Chute!

Not the first time they done that, they dropped one on final approach to 29 a few years ago.

In the 80's a Vulcan K2 landed at Waddington with it's centre-line hose full out, they had to close the A15 until it had landed!
