On 'Talking Pictures' channel, 15:15 this afternoon.

"1935. Documentary. Directed by John Betts. Commentator: Squadron Leader W. Helmore. Documentary about the Royal Air Force featuring training of new recruits and aircraft of the period."

This programme is on again on Weds 17th at 16:25; highly recommended as a fascinating slice of RAF history.
Amazing how little had changed in technology, equipment and tactics, since WW1, and this was only four years before WW2.

The second half of the programme especially is packed with images of the wonderous range of aircraft operated by the RAF in this era. And look out for a face that looks very much like a young Bob Stanford Tuck, in the 'Furies' section, near the end.
