Just heard the sad news that long time South East based Spotter Bob Adams has passed away.
I saw Bob mainly at Heathrow or Gatwick but he would often pop-up literally anywhere. He used public transport to get around.
He was always a pleasure to meet and always seemed to have something interesting say.
I recently bumped into him at Marham during the latter end of the Marine Corps deployment. He had taken the train to Norwich and then bus and walked from Pentney to the top of the hill! I gave him a lift back to Swaffham so he could get the train from Norwich but not before doing Norwich Airport!

Re: Bob Adams
Very sad news indeed. Even though a non driver, Bob keenly always still managed to get around chasing the numbers. Well known for his impressive brass telescope, the two of them even put in a brief (but amusing) appearance on 'Have I Got New For You' many years ago. I went on a few trips with Bob over the years (one when I drove him over to Weelde chasing Belgian F16 wrecks...at least someone else was as slack as me in needing most of them!) and we often bumped into each other for a friendly chat, usually at Heathrow. RIP Bob, one of the good guys.
