I believe it was the Lithuania based jets on the Baltic policing mission, not Cyprus based jets.

The Lithuanian jets returned to Kinloss earlier this week

I personally believe the whole event was merely to demonstrate to Vlad Pukin that the RAF can & will support "our special friends" from Sandy-places & bases worldwide...even if it was only one RAF Typhoon on-station in the end?
Oh, don't forget the obligatory photo-op' too.

It’s a bit of a crappy non-story? Several types of aircraft based in Cyprus now happen to be well placed for Black Sea as well as desert operations.
