Thank you to everyone that has supported us!!! An amazing result we are all humbled by.

A detailed summary of funds accrued and allocation is available on our Facebook page.

A lot has been happening this week, we’ve already dispatched a lot of ground support equipment which has now arrived and the aircraft will depart Bruntingthorpe on Thursday 20th August. Arriving at Cotswold airport on the 21st.

The team at Cotswold airport have been fantastic and we are all really looking forward to the future in our new home !

Yesterday XW544 made her first taxi run along Kemble's runway and XX894 did two high power engine runs. Video of the taxi here: https://youtu.be/aV1x9WwJTPw

Video of the engine runs to follow!

Nice Video. Glad it's off the trailer and moving under its own steam (fuel)!

Congratulation to all concerned for getting this far with the massive project that was the relocation from Bruntingthorpe.
Just a couple of questions...
How friendly are Kemble's owners towards the the group and the expected interest from the general public wanting to see and hear the Buccaneers taxing ?
It is totally understandable that long hours of testing goes into this sort of operation and it is unreasonable to expect public access at all times, but what can be viewed from public areas on or around the airfield.
Assuming a working party are on site, are the aircraft parked in a location that can be accessed safely by visitors or are all operations strictly limited by airfield rules.
regards
Paul

Cotswold airport are hugely supportive and once the airport is fully open to the public again If the jets are moving they will be visible from the public AV8 area. If static work is being carried out then not a lot can be seen as the aircraft are parked airside on Golf apron so there is no public access. They are just about viewable from the fence to airside though.
The planned taxi runs or ticketed TBAG run events will be announced on the Facebook group etc and website and a separate closer enclosure will be setup and manned by TBAG members.

TBAG does offer a supporters club Buccaneer buddies and that comes with benefits that allow closer access aswell. If that’s something you’d be interested in.

As you can imagine the group is still finding its feet and last weekends run was an important milestone it was publicised but the airport remained closed to the public so we advised people not to come.
The main priority for the group at the moment is to fulfil access and rewards to the supporters who helped make the move to Cotswold airport possible.

There is another run scheduled shortly which will be announced by the media team as soon as it’s confirmed.

Hopefully the airport will be fully open as planned but you can also find that info out on Cotswold airports Facebook page.

Hope that helps

Thanks Andy for the quick and informative reply. I for one am happy to wait to see the Buccaneers again. Last thing the group need is any bad press form the local nimby about people gagging over the fences when the airfield cafe / viewing area could make a few quid selling teas / coffee.

Sounds a really promising future, and at a great airfield too (makes a change to see aircraft as a backdrop instead of thousands of cars & vans). Well done and wishing you every success. :thumb:
