Corridor Question

Post by robg » Wed Jun 03, 2020 9:33 am

Sorry if this sounds like a noob question....
Yesterday I noticed that a couple of flights out Brize came up the Daventry corridor, but then exited before the end of the corridor to turn North, I can't say I have ever noticed that happen before. I always just assumed that they would stay within the confines of the corridors from start to finish. The only explination I can come up with is that due to reduced civillian traffic at the moment they are granted permission to do this.

Correct robg. No need to travel the full length of the corridor if there is nothing in the airway to affect a 'resume own-navigation' turn.
