Moody A-10 Makes Emergency Wheels-Up Landing
Re: Moody A-10 Makes Emergency Wheels-Up Landing
I read that as a ‘moody’ A-10 i.e. def. (of a person) given to unpredictable changes of mood, especially sudden bouts of gloominess or sullenness.
I quite liked that image of a truculent A-10 that didnt want to put its wheels down. Made me laugh anyway!

Re: Moody A-10 Makes Emergency Wheels-Up Landing
I remember when the A10s were introduced we were gleefully informed (By the sales team perhaps?) that
"This aircraft will still fly with one engine out, no flaps working and one third of one wing missing. It can also land with it's wheels up as there's just enough showing to permit this".
Looking at the photo, the second sentence of the statement doesn't appear to be 100% true.
