Looks like both crew have had a very close shave and fortunate to be alive!

Good news. I can post my joke now...
Not quite as embarrassing as accidentally shooting/destroying one of your own F16s on the apron.

Hardly a joking matter, and I have corrected the title. Belgium is the country and Belgian is the adjective. It happens to be my home country

Only the original poster or a member of staff can amend the title of the topic, certainly not a laughing matter as it could have been a lot more serious.
I agree with you, it should certainly say 'Belgian', maybe the OP could amend the title please? :)

I know that, Mike, but as there was official confirmation they are fine, a light-hearted comment would be okay  Apologies, is all I can say, if people took offence.

Don't worry about it, at least the crew are "fine" but both are probably a few millimetres shorter, extremely sore and will be for a few days to come. :)

Just extremely fortunate that contact was on one conductor. Any other contact and it would have been a far different outcome.

Hopefully they are well enough to have a go on Euromillions, with that kind of good fortune one of them should win it. A happy end, that is the main thing.

How strange. The pilot hanging from the power lines it appears to be his life raft caught in the wire and no sign of his parachute ??

I would imagine he cut the parachute loose in case it dragged him into contact with anything conductive!

From reports the lady in the damaged house was also extremely lucky

Perhaps the lottery win can help repair her roof.

Having seen a picture in one of the dailies it's fortunate the guy didn't come down into U.K. grid-line; he would have bridged a circuit and his nine lives would be no more. Good rapid thinking if he did indeed cut his 'chute away!
