Hi Bob, already discussed in the OTT section, "squalk" should read "squawk" though! viewtopic.php?f=8&t=180749

Thanks Mike, I had not seen the OTT section thread as I was not up to the required number of posts to view......
Now that I am I will keep a watch out for new topics.

There was supposed to be an A400m going into Manchester earlier this week although it was cancelled. Assuming this was to do with the Dakota but not heard any information / rumours since.

Thanks. I have never been clear what the situation is with spare Dakota engines is within the BBMF. They have had a lot of problems in recent years with them, leading to significant periods of unserviceability. This makes me wonder if they keep any serviceable spares at all?

Having worked for a Cargo Airline in the past I doubt very much they will be flying in spares to Manchester Airport. I use to quite frequently take aircraft spares to Europe by van when the aircraft had gone tech. BBC 1 Look North said in their report how would they get the aircraft back to Coningsby, simple they will repair it first at Manchester then fly it home.
