Does anyone know the likelihood of capturing action of aircraft involved in this exercise away from Waddington at locations such as Holbeach, Spadeadam, the Lakes or the Loop?

I was also wondering that? I think given that the types and squadrons involved are primarily involved in air defence and the interceptor role it is unlikely they will visit Holbeach but you never know with the military. Maybe on non exercise days they may appear low level or is low level banned for non UK/US Airforces?

If you put the co ordinates into your chosen mapping system you will find out the area of the planned exercise area. Roughly over the sea in the Scottish Borders area down to Flamborough head. If you want to see them I guess the only guaranteed place would be Waddington.

Was lucky to enough to have 4 German Tornados low over the house twice 2 years ago on a non exercise day.

Is this confirmed? Would have been some great photo ops.

The Israelis tried for Cumbria LL today but couldn’t drop down due to low cloud / rain. They worked Spadeadam first apparently.

Yes for the exact reason you asked, hence why no "Makos” from their recent deployment escorted by LN crews were not allowed to do the Loop. The Ban which came in place this year remains in place for the foreseeable future as with RAF Typhoons.

Had some beautiful passes by the Makos along lake Vyrnwy though! Maybe the Israelis will pay a visit?

Cobra Warrior exercise area is North Sea and Spadeadam range only.

I know that, I meant on the non Cobra Warrior days. 4 German Tornados paid me a visit 2 years low level over South Wales on a non exercise day .

I think if your waiting on or near a hillside you most likely will be disappointed, but still 2 weeks so lets wait, and see.

Like I said in an earlier post, the Israelis tried to enter low level at Cumbria last week either before or after a visit to Spadeadam. I wouldn’t put money against them trying again.

Well the main objective at spadeadam is to throw threats at aircraft as soon as they are seen, so low level is the best way into the range. They usually go up the m6 and enter the south of the range at IP4 (Melmerby-Hallbankgate)

Last time I didn't have have to sit on a hillside, I just had German Tornados go right over the house then 10 minutes fly back again

I'm not gonna hang around for them on hillsides, gone are the days where I'm chasing no existent low flying jets
