That was the best aviation program the ITV has made. Well done

I enjoyed it from start to finish.
It was obviously a PR exercise for the F35 hence the Typhoon being seen as 2nd Best (Although clearly not in the looks department)

The F35 is somewhat growing on me though, must get to Marham at some point & seem some live one's, maybe wait till we have a few more though.

Enjoyed the show, loved the Marham spotters highlighted. Also liked the reds version not too long ago similar format, kinda cheesy but watchable!

Liked the series very much. Well thought out in that it showed what was portrayed as the pinnacle of today's RAF (flying the F35) and those intent on getting there. Only three episodes, but I do actually think that was enough.
Intrigued to see that the female (can't remember her name) Royal Navy pilot will now fly the Typhoon. Strange philosophy.

Lt Danielle Welch, Ex "ab-initio" Lynx helicopter pilot.

She's not the first RN Pilot to go to Typhoon either.

Not at all. It was obviously considered that she was not quite ready for the demands of the F-35. A tour on Typhoons will be a perfect lead-in.
In the "old days" RN pilots who passed the FJ course but were not considered ready for the Sea Harrier sometimes had a Tornado tour to build up experience before returning for SHAR training.

How many female Typhoon pilots are based at Coningsby?

Having watched all 3 episodes of Fighter Pilot I wondered how many female Typhoon pilots are based at Coningsby. On the 12th April this year a Typhoon landed at Coningsby and soon after landing experienced problems and needed to be towed in from the end of the runway. It was towed past Crash Gate 1 where I was photographing the action.
The pilot had removed the “Helmet Mounted Symbology System” (yeah I know, but that’s what BAE call it) and it was clearly a woman. But as a matter of interest was it the pilot on the series?

Don't know? I didn't witness your event to compare her to 'Danners'! For you to decide only? ;)

Doubt so early in the course she would be wearing the HMSS certainly as a Student. If I was told correctly it stands at 3 on the Typhoon now.
