Enforcing EU sanctions is quite different from all out war though isn’t it.

Yes, very much so but it doesn't seem to be working if that country is ignoring them and the USA warnings whilst forging ahead to have nuclear power and weapons however soon or long that may take. Thankfully they held back on firing at the P8 nearby to the UAV drone.

Unfortunately Pandora's box was opened in 1945 and the Nuclear plague escaped and nobody can put it back. Countries like North Korea and Iran know that with Nuclear capability people will stand up and take notice of them. I should guess that Iran never had any intentions of abandoning their nuclear program.

To be honest I think the west should totally commit to nuclear power generation to reduce our reliance on Middle East oil and then hopefully we would desist from meddling in Middle East issues.

Wasn't the ongoing crisis in the Persian Gulf the reason given for the USN F/A-18E cancellation at VL?

The reason they've cancelled appearing at VLAD is because of the cancellation of the deployment to Leeming ;)

As to wether said Middle Eastern tensions are the reason for that cancellation remains to be seen :thumb:

US down Iranian drone

Post by reheat » Thu Jul 18, 2019 8:45 pm

Being reported on Sky that the U.S.S.BOXER downed an Iranian drone after it came within 1000 yards of the ship in the Strait of Hormuz, despite several warnings.
Regards,

Steve.

Now reported that a British tanker has been seized by the Iranians (Stena Impero) with another ship (British owned but Liberian flagged called Mesdar) possibly also being seized.

If only we had a few Buccs to deploy to Gib and fly fully armed at mast height over these jumped up Iranian pirates.

Would struggle to fly from Gib to the Arabian Gulf/Straits of Hormuz though.

I think the Iranians don't like it because according to the BBC the RM intercepted an Iranian Tanker off Gib trying to get oil to Syria
