Plus .... Someone of a few more years life experience will probably come in several more from a bit further back. :(
My aero watching started (apparently) during the last big war. According to my father's youngest sister, I was left sitting in my pushchair in the garden of my grandfather to watch the planes. In a recent family gathering we concluded that the Rhine crossing was one significant air fleet that we watched. Big Fen skies
If only I had had my current camera then ;) I'm even warming to the F-35
Great times, lots of memories. I could bore the pants off anyone!

At least other air arms that fly Tornado will have our spares
I hope so, but here's no guarantee of that.

Maybe we don’t have the F15E, but we do have DM Brimstone, something only the US can dream about .
Hmm yes, Hellfire with a fancy seeker. Aren't we brill?

I'm fairly sure that the $716 billion US defence budget could stretch to that. In fact, apparently they have already selected LM's dual-mode seeker for AGM-114R retrofits.

The ban happened because I purchased a new fancy camera instead of always using my phone or compact....boom, a week later it all kicked off so still not used it at the Loop yet.
So blame me folks ( where’s the grovel emoji)?

Isn't the Ban on the loop every other LFA's gain though.
Seen loads of pictures recently through the lakes etc. which were previously very few & far between.
Maybe part of the 'Ban' is also partly to get rid of some of the multitudes of people who seem to be there daily not always respectful in where they park, littering, trespass etc.

I'm gutted I've never made it so far

Anyone hearing any news about the ban being lifted yet? I thought it was up for review March/April

This weeks been a decent week down there. There’s been a huge amount of F-15 activity compared with the last few months (yes, I know they’re not affected by the ban) but the RAF Hawks from Valley have also returned.

I’ve heard the Hawks are allowed back as they’re training new pilots however I believe the Typhoons are still affected by a ban. Don’t know how accurate this is though.

I was there this week and seen the F-15’s, the Hawks coming through were Navy Hawks, not RAF

The pictures posted up on various spotters groups show RAF Hawks, all taken within the last week.

You had me double checking to make sure I wasn’t mistaken! But yeah, good news. Hopefully other RAF aircraft will be back through soon enough.

Hi all,

I work in Llandudno Junction and there has been loads of traffic up and down the Conwy Valley all week, multiple Hawks, F15's, Hercs and there was even a CV22 Osprey a few weeks back so I can't see there still being a ban on the Loop surely?

Thanks

The ban was purely for RAF aircraft, USAF have been able to use it.

I know that, that was weeks ago though.

I was at the Loop a few weeks back and had two F15's, admittedly I didn't see any RAF planes low level that day but there were things coming up on ADSB and on Valley radar on my scanner.

So is there still a ban on the RAF then?

For Typhoons & transports yes, although Mallwyd to BYG is still used occasionally

Airline-speak...."Ladies & Gentlemen, take a good look around you as sometimes the nearest information maybe behind you!" or in Preacher mode "Seek & ye shall find!"
It aint April yet & there would've been overly-excited persons all over this page with news had it happened?
Remember, tomorrow is the 101st Anniversary of the RAF.....watch your six! ;)
