What is your top 3 aircraft of all time

English Electric Lightning FMk 2a. (Over the FMk 6 because of the nose mounted cannon)

Hawker Hunter FGA9. (My dad made a wooden model from blueprint when I was 5 in 51. The aircraft has been beautiful ever since)

North American P51D Mustang. (That bubble canopy, fuselage underside and undercarriage, coupled with power and grace)

Classics with very appropriate names.

All three for the sound as well as the looks.

1: Buccaneer S2B remember seeing Laarbruch based ones.
2: Lightning f3 standing on its tail and disappearing rapidly at Caythorpe collage near RAF Cranwell ,last ever time I saw one fly.
3: F 104 G multiple aircraft seen low level over Osnabruck giving it some welly.

These burnt into my memory at an early age, ergo my top three.

2. DH Mosquito. (Early '70s; one over flew me whilst I was driving somewhere north of Hemmel Hempstead).
3. Westland Whirlwind HAS mk1. (If I win enough on a Lotto ticket, I will make an offer for the one at Flixton even though it isn't in navy blue any more).

Difficult, as you say, but i'll go with:
i. F-4 (either an 892NAS 'K' or a WW 'G')
ii. C-130 (so many different variants from Albert in the FI to a Spectre at Kandahar)
iii. Spitfire (there's never been an aircraft so beautiful IMHO)

2. O-1 Bird Dog. Such a nice little airplane I still like to see, even as warbird.
3. H-34. For me the ultimate design of a helicopter.
