The RAF have announced participants in the Flypast :-

Those with better eyes than mine will be able to see what they are! I make it just 24 plus the Red Arrows. maybe they'll go round 4 times to make the 100 aircraft.

Guessing at the numbers of each type - for example, at least 6 Chinooks - I'd estimate between 50 and 80 aircraft.
That's just a wild guess!!!!

That's a damn shame. Personally I only like fly pasts of 103 aircraft :/

Well, so far they have done 9 ship practice of 100 Sqn Hawks from Leeming , 9 Ship of Linton Tucanos.

3 Pumas and 6? Chinooks from Benson yesterday, 7or 8 from Odiham last week.

I believe its supposed to be 109 (100 and the Reds) but all soon will be revealed..

It does sound very good

I heard something about an arrow head made up of Chinooks to lead the flypast but as you rightly say time will tell.

Can't recall where, but last week saw the alleged line up was to be -
9 Hawk T1, 9 Hawk T2, 7 Tornado, 3 F35, 21 Typhoons in a 100 formation, 9 Reds, 5 Chinook, 2 Puma, 5 more Chinooks, 3 Juno/Jupiter,
BBMF, 9 Tucano, 3 Prefect, 2 Shadow, 1 Phenom, 3 Hercules, 1 Atlas, 1 C17, 2 Bae 146, 1 Sentinel, 1 Voyager, 1 RC135 and 1 AWACS.
So if BBMF put up a 4 ship Lanc-Spit-Hurri-Dak we have 103.......please don't shoot the messenger !

That’s a pretty good recall of what’s flying. I think the SH numbers may be a bit Chinook heavy. I don’t recall the Tucano’s tbh. It will be interesting to see what is dropped for RIAT Friday, and then more again for the weekend. I think that Tocano 9 ship over Humber in Dec was a statement of disappointment perhaps.

Heard BBMF could be providing up to 8 aircraft on the 10th (DLSSSSHH) :)

Is this flypast going to be roughly the same route as the QBF a few weeks ago?

I think it's almost identical, if you have a look at the link I posted further up, the raf twitter has posted a rough route.

cheers

My brother has told me there is going to be a practice next week over Cranwell on the 3rd July. Does anyone know if it will consist of the whole number of aircraft or will it just be part of it as I know the red arrows and bbmf don't normally take part in the practice/rehearsal for the qbf. Any info would be much appreciated as I may be able to get an hour out of work to go a watch it as I'm going to be at fairford on the 10th July for the actual flypast and wouldn't have travelled to London to see it. Cranwell would be a good chance for me to see it as I only live in Newark.

Thanks
Martin

Big push from BBMF is what I’m hearing.

Will BBMF fly the whole route from Suffolk, or will they slot in nearer London as they normally do for the flypasts?

Cheers,
TankBuster
