RAF hawks are to move to Llanbedr as well as Griffins for circuit training for several days this Aug .

7th till the 11th next week ATC and fire cover provided by the RAF and local airfield staff.

I'd imagine this is because of the national eisteddford notam in place which overlaps the circuit at Valley.

I found a Notam 4569/17 a four day exercise involving multiple Fast Jets commencing on 7th, August 2017 W/I 5 Nautical Miles of
Llanbedr on from 08.00 to 16.00. Is Shell Island still a good viewing location?. ATC 118.925

Yes, Shell Island is still a good spot for watching. Down by the harbour will get you on the line of the main runway. You have to pay to get onto the island but it's worth it.
Another good viewing point is the lay-by just to the south of Llanbedr village.
Also, Jindivik cafe on the airfield is a good viewing spot. Go through the gates of the airfield and turn right.
I believe that you will see Hawks and Griffins this week.
