Trooping the colours flypast.
Re: Trooping the colours flypast.
1 pm over the Palace (Reds at 1:03pm) the alternative time (if 1pm is cancelled is 5pm).
I've not seen anything official yet as to what is taking part but haven't really looked.
from what has been rehearsing 2 x C17 , 1 x Atlas with C130, BBMF and the Reds?

Re: Trooping the colours flypast.
The flypast will run right down the A12 Suffolk/Essex corridor towards east London tomorrow. Is anyone here local to this like I am? Where is the best place to photograph them from? Does anyone have any good spots? I'll be Chelmsford side of things and the kids have decided they'd also like to see it this year.
Any help greatly appreciated!

I am in Galleywood and usually go to the Boreham junction and park near the burger van on the entrance to the A12 southbound.

Totally agree with toom317. Did Bastille Day 3 years ago and saw 80+ in the fly past in 2 waves. "Jets & props opened, rotary closed. An incredible sight, can't make this year but already planning for 2018 as the best fly past you will see in Europe.

Hi Mark, was just thinking Hylands might be better for the kids. Is there anywhere specific here to see the flypast best? Do you park in Hylands grounds or is there a "spotters" place?markranger wrote:Hylands park is quite good chelmesford.

Sorry for the questions

Re: Trooping the colours flypast.
I used to live in Chelmsford for many years. Beaulieu Park was always a favourite spot , at the end of Beaulieu Boulevard up the steps looking towards Boreham. Another great spot was the council car park immediately behind the train station, although this view may now be spoilt be recent buildings being erected. If all else fails, the Colchester end of platform 1 on the station.

I believe the King Air trio were standing in for the BBMF in the rehearsal and are not in the main flypast

I thought I saw another single King Air ahead of them over south Lincs that was acting as the BBMF.

The footbridge by theToby Carvery at Chelmer Village Chelmsford is a good place. You can see them comming in from Colchester and then heading into London - good for photgraphs. That's where I will be !!!!
