Does anyone know the current location of this Sea King please? Neither Demobbed nor UK Serials have a location for it.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Not sure I can help but, and at the risk of high-jacking your thread, I can't find an identity for the Sea King HAR3 currently on the dump at Boscombe Down. Could it be a match?

Was noted at RAF Mount Pleasant in April this year, did it ever come back to the UK after that?

Thanks vc10man, much appreciated!
Freeman Lowell, I think that one is HAS.6 XV709 - which used to be at Valley as a procedures trainer and is painted suitably yellow.

Thanks Chris. I'm afraid I looked no further than the colour.

I'll study it more closely next time.

For the record, Sea King ZE370, which had indeed been with the Falklands-based 1564 Flight, arrived by ship at Marchwood Military Port, Southampton, on 20th May 2016.

I saw this last weekend and whilst riding on the Churnet Valley railway I could see the other side of the buildings some merlin rear parts one was marked ZJ118 not sure about the other items there. Surely this Merlin hasn't been cut up, has it?

ZJ118 hasn't been scrapped, no. It's currently at Yeovil, awaiting conversion to HC.4.

As MRTT says it is awaiting conversion, part of the conversion from HC.3 to HC.4 includes adding a folding tail

Thanks for your confirmations. There could well have been other rears of Merlins there but with no serials visible. There were loads of rotor blades, too!

ZE370 is currently being used as a glamping pod at Pinewood park, Scarborough alongside XZ589. It's one of three Sea kings pitched there....XZ589 and the 3rd Sea king (tail number blanked out) both still have their rotor blades but ZE370 has had its blades removed.
