Hi,
can I ask, has anyone visited Hixon lately, and if so, how much is still stored there please?

Re: anybody visited Hixon airfield lately?
Visited there not too long ago and everything on the airfield site had pretty much been cleared including the Herc's if I remember rightly.
They have a RN Lynx preserved at their building along the A51 that you can see from the gate.

James

Was out past there on Saturday, looked very empty....
Re: anybody visited Hixon airfield lately?
Hixon has been cleared, apart from a couple of Lynx cabs left within their main complex.
The issue with the demobbed listing is there were a number of frames which were sold at the auction, but without any knowledge of a forwarding address. Similarly there were a number of Lynx scrapped at the local scrap metal recyclers. What is not known (and may never be) is which were scrapped and which were moved on to pastures new.
The last noted date is the clue to what can be considered recent.
