Set for decommission in 2016. Looks like the end for the Harriers too. One of the options is to use her for target practice. Wish she could be a museum over here. :(

I wish we could have her back. Who would pay for her upkeep though. If she was moored in central London, maybe as an satellite museum with Yeovilton, she might be able to pay her way. If she could be a museum ny day and a unique restaurant/event venue by night she might generate enough wonga. Mr Branson, are you reading this :) The Falklands war really was the end of independent British naval power. Anything we do in the future will likely only be as a minor coalition partner. Considering all the aid money we have donated to India they should give her back for free.

The Intrepid in New York does OK. Admittedly it's got a Space Shuttle on board and a Concorde nearby but even so, must be some space somewhere in Docklands.

Sail it up the Thames, put the Heathrow Concorde, a Sea Harrier, and XH558 on it.....and Madame Tussauds could create Martin Withers sitting in the cockpit

They can't even sort out the fate of Illustrious that is/was supposed to be coming to the Thames....

I sadly doubt that it will leave Indian waters

This was the only vessel I was taken to see launched at Barrow; some years later it returned for a refit and I saw it leaving from Piel island.
