Coningsby "Sunset Photoshoot"

As i've been previously to a RAF Coningsby families day and enthusiast day my girlfriend has said would I like to go to this sunset shoot. For me at £40 it's a little too much, £20 each we'd snap it up but £40...too expensive for us i'm afraid.

I can't go to this but if I lived close enough I would. People are giving up their freetime to make this happen, so assuming it is for charity then it has to be worthwhile for the effort, hence the ticket price. I went to the Coningsby enthusiasts day a few years ago, it was well run and the staff were really helpful and informative. Events like this should be supported or there won't be any at all.

Hmm. That's not helpful at all. I got my form filled in and back fairly pronto but couldn't pay until later in the evening.

Did they only give forms to 50 people or was it first to drop money in the account. If the latter I can see a big problem on the horizon regarding refunds!

All sold out bit like a trip to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory golden tickets only!!! Well we were inundated with people asking in fact we could have sold 10 times the amount but we can't for security. I will hopefully be working that night as i have volunteered or is that had my arm twisted?!!! Nope volunteered!

I presume as the money has been taken from my account and not refunded that I was successful? I did write twice in the last day bit have not heard back yet?

It would be good to know if this is the case or if it was sold out and the people were unsuccessful that the monies could be returned?

Obviously not everybody,me included thinks it is a rip-off . Great to have the oppurtunity

Later this month, RAF Coningsby is staging an exclusive sunset photoshoot - offering enthusiasts the opportunity to capture dramatic twilight images of military aircraft past and present.

Although all 50 tickets for the event from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday 29 September have been snapped up - the Air Tattoo has managed to secure two tickets to this exclusive event and is offering two 2015 FRIAT MACH 3 members the opportunity to attend.

If you would like the chance to secure a ticket to the RAF Coningsby Sunset Photo Shoot, please email with your name and contact telephone number, stating that you wish to be entered into the draw. Please put 'Sunset Photo Shoot' in the email subject line.

The deadline for entries is noon on Friday, September 11.

Anyone who purchased RIAT 2015 MACH 3 packages on behalf of others, is requested to forward this email on to them.

A full list of the aircraft on display will be made available on arrival, however, this select group can expect to see Typhoons and Battle of Britain Memorial flight airframes parked in unique configurations.

One of the organisers said: "We've not staged a sunset photoshoot on this scale before. It's going to be good!"


Conditions: The names of two RIAT 2015 FRIAT MACH 3 members will be drawn after the deadline of noon, on Friday, September 11. The winners will each receive a ticket to the Sunset Photo Shoot on Tuesday, September 29, from 6pm-9pm. The winners will be required to make their own way to RAF Coningsby and cover any other expenses. The station will provide a hot roll and beverage during the evening. Photo ID will be required.

Sadly, I wont be going but did apply through my friend Jack wills. This would have meant a two hour drive each way for us but would have done it gladly for the chance be part of something really good. I moan at the cost of a ticket to see Man United if my wife decides to go ( I don't as I'm not a fan )so £40 seemed pretty reasonable to me. As we didn't get tickets weve got a base visit sorted for that day anyway due to my daughter being based their as an avionic engineer but I would have loved to stay for the evening shoot as well. will still try for the next one though.
