Looks interesting. Do we know if it's manned or unmanned?

Been in the pip line for a while now ,it's a follow on to the b-2 - called the b-3 ,I think it will be optionally maned LRS-B (long range strike bomber ) :thumb:
Look forward to it appearing some time in the future on the ramp at FFD
All the very best as always

It could just be a very clever marketing ploy, I have done this sort of mock-up stuff when working in movies, it takes just a few scaffolding poles and some plywood to make something that looks convincing on film!

Too true. Attach a few pieces of plywood, and carefully applied paint and a kitchen table from IKEA will appear to the audience as a piece of furniture Louis 17th will have used at Versailles. There was a film once in which some drunken sailors attached a brass bedstead to the mast of their ship the night before sailing. The Russians were convinced it was a new & powerful phased array radar device!

Just a thought about the title, has there ever been a short range strike bomber?

I'm probably as confused as the rest of my village with America's super-secret, secret and public future programmes. Aren't we due a new bomber and a new hypersonic replacement for the SR-71 anytime soon? Both alleged to be in the new hangars at Groom Lake? And then there's the X-47B "demonstrator" that's been around for a few years.

The short range strike bombers you ask about are the F-15E, F-111 and Tornado class of jet.

LRS-B (not LARS-B) is the programme name, and (if it comes to fruition) it may be fulfilled by either a Northrop or Boeing-LM proposal. The B-3 designation does not currently exist, and is just speculation at this stage. The shape under the cover could conceivably be a conceptual mock-up, but you can bet it's not a design prototype. My money is on plywood and carved foam...

Back in 1979 they built the actual Millennium Falcon in the old Sunderland sheds at Pembroke Dock. It was optionally flown by a Wookie. You should have seen that thing fly. Well, maybe you did...?
