The Green Party manifesto

I thought I'd post this as there's a few proposals on the military hidden near the end.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... itain.html

International aid should be increased by nearly 50 per cent to one per cent of GDP under Green Policy.
Merely being a member of al-Qaeda, the IRA and other currently proscribed terrorist groups will no longer be a criminal offence under Green plans, and instead a Green Government should seek to “address desperate motivations that lie behind many atrocities labelled ‘terrorist’,” the policy book states.
Terrorism, it adds, “is an extremely loaded term. Sometimes governments justify their own terrorist acts by labelling any groups that resist their monopoly of violence 'terrorist’.”

Britain will leave NATO, end the special relationship with the US, and unilaterally abandon nuclear weapons. A standing army, navy and airforce is “unnecessary”. Bases will be turned into nature reserves and the arms industry “converted” to producing windturbines.

To be fair to the Green Party, at least they seem to be open & upfront about their attitude of annihilating our military :'( . I disagree with all of it, & they indeed live in a fantasy world of peace & love, but you sure know where they stand.
Unfortunately, some other parties promise the world with one hand & weald an axe with the other. :grr:
I believe in a strong robust British military, ready to fight & win in protection of our Nation, from threats across the world. We need a Government who will guarantee at least the minimum NATO defence spending goal of 2% gdp.

Obviously this bunch of tree hugging clowns have absolutely no idea about anything at all!

If they want something green, then a Paveway might be a good suggestion!!!

Well said Thorny. I don't agree with their policies on defence either, but equally I'm not going to trivialise their beliefs by accusing them of drug taking or crack jokes about dropping a bomb on them. So while their views on defence won't be shared by anyone on this forum they are the only party that would try to break the stranglehold the oil and energy companies and the banking sector have on the country, and that can gain popular support and see them winning seats in parliament. Not many for sure, but if the next election results in another coalition their bargaining power will be out of proportion to the number of seats they have, as I said, if they win any. My point is that laughing off minority parties, as people did with UKIP is a mistake.
