King’s Coronation Flypast Info 25th - 27th April & 6th May 2023
Re: King’s Coronation Flypast Info 25th - 27th April & 6th May 2023
Anyone know if all 4 capitals are getting something other than what London is getting?
Re: King’s Coronation Flypast Info 25th - 27th April & 6th May 2023
Just a reminder, please don’t report the practice over the next couple of days in this thread. There will be a dedicated thread in Heads Up
Serials can be posted after the fact here but any tracking info please put it in the dedicated thread. This thread may be locked to prevent it anyway

Remember how to adjust clocks between GMT and BST - if not, try the well-known (?) saying "Spring forward, Fall (USA-speak for Autumn) back". So add 1 hour to GMT to update to BST at the right date in the spring, subtract 1 hour from BST to return to GMT at the right date in the autumn.

Damn! I know it's been along day for me, but why does this sound like a trick question?
Given my following understanding that Great Britain (or Britain) is the official name given to the the two Kingdoms of England and Scotland, and the Principality of Wales.
The United Kingdom consists of Great Britain - the main island made up of England, Scotland and Wales - and Northern Ireland.
The capital, seat of government, and largest city of the United Kingdom is London, which is also the capital of England. The UK Overseas Territories and UK Crown Dependencies do not form part of the United Kingdom.
England - The capital is London.
Scotland - The capital is Edinburgh .
Wales - The capital is Cardiff.
Northern Ireland - The capital is Belfast.
(The capital of the UK is London.)
If your question should read.... "Other than London, what kind of Flypast are the other Three Capitals going to witness?"
Easy answer as far as I'm aware....None!

Or possibly anti-monarchy who knows? Maybe member "mhm" will enlighten us as to their opinion.

The uk contribute 0.8% to the worlds pollution problems. Don't start that rubbish on here. It's a celebration. Having a royal ceremony without a flypast is like having a birthday party without the cake. It's a tradition that most of us expect.

Hello all,
Is there preplanned route the flypast will take?
Trying to plan a good photo spot
Afraid I haven't been around here (FC) for the queen's birthday flypast

Hate to sound boorish. Was the rehearsal last Wednesday the 27th the "final wrap" before the Coronation? Is there any likelihood of a final practise before next Saturday? I appreciate that as mentioned earlier on this thread that all further NOTAMS have since been removed. I'm hoping to visit Coningsby on Wednesday, hence my enquiry.

The Lossiemouth & Coningsby Typhoons have had at least 2 rehearsals out over the North Sea since the main rehearsal over Cranwell. They should be in either a CR or CIIIR formation and may need another practice before the Coronation.

That's really what I'm interested in - the Typhoon mass launch. I was impressed with a similar rehearsal last June prior to the Queen's Platinum celebrations, it was a great spectacle to watch from Reedham Lane. I'll take a chance on Wednesday (wx permitting). Cheers

Re the Flypast on the 6th May. Do we expect the Lossimouth element to deployed south before the event or even on Saturday morning ? Would the extra nine aircraft overload Coningsby, if so where else could they operate ?
