Was thinking the same. Is there much likely to be taking to the air after 18:00?

At this rate its going to be all three lenses, flash, tripod and a Sherpa to carry it all.

There was at least 6 movements yesterday evening, 3 of those happened after 21.00 when the photoshoot will be over

Fang 51-52 and Marham 36 up after 19.00
Tirpitz 51-52 and Marham 66 up after 21.00

Anyone had word how the £30 refund will be paid? If they are still planning on it

I asked them about the refund yesterday - and received this response:

"Dan,
Yes that will be the case and details of how the refund will be paid will be sent out shortly.
Thanks
The RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day Team"

So I guess we now wait for the details!! lol

I voted for option 2,just for the fact that I would like to see some tornados going about there daily business, wheels up runway shots or taxi shots would be nice.
May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.

See you there folks

Don't forget photo ID  surprised Marham haven't emailed that reiterating it. I hoped they allow people to get photos of the PR9, never managed to get a good shot of that in all my visits on base

Yep is it Tim. Depends where they are holding the photo shoot, I have heard people mention Alpha. If it is Alpha it's almost a certainty the bus will go passed the PR9.

Last minute checks are done. Making a visit to Lakenheath first, then aiming to get to Marham for around 3ish. See you guys there, be good to put faces to names.

See you both there  , a quick cheeky stop off in the McDonalds on the way and I should be there around 1345-1400, I'm heading for the viewing area by the end of 06 or the forest entrance. Does seem like the Heath has been quiet the last few days so hopefully there's something going up this afternoon

Well from my point of view it was an excellent evening. Access was damn good, no barriers around the jets, you could get as close as you like. All the staff were friendly, courteous and happy to talk and explain things. Having the base operational and allowing people up to the hot pit was great and they also bussed people across to the 31sqn HAS to see the Granby jet. Can't argue with the 2016 Typhoon display at the start of the day either.

Yes it would have been nice to have seen more jet out, with a mixed weapon war load as planned but we know it would only be 3 jets going in.

What did others think?

I also thought it was a great evening.

The access to the jets was very good, just a shame that the sun didn't play ball - however you can't blame Marham and the RAF staff for that!!

Being able to be taken around to see the Granby jet was the icing on the cake, in some ways it was nicer to see it in that environment...

Lovely Evening.
As Simon said,Once inside you could go where you wanted within reason,
Nice watching the Hotpit jets and also being by the Rotation point of the jets on take off, Shame the sun did not play ball.
Going round to the HAS site was great and having the Grey jet well positioned out side the HAS was also nice.

Well done all round.

I agree with all that has been put regarding last nights event.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening which was well organised with friendly staff and crews willing to take time to spend answering questions and indulging in a bit of banter.
The hot pits was a surprise as was being allowed in such a position to get take off shots but I suppose the highlight for many was the trip across to the HAS site to see "Pinky".
Well done to all concerned in arranging it and many thanks.

Good job to Marham all round for the evening. I really enjoyed it.
I didn't go to see the Granby jet, mainly because I didn't want to see it in a sorry state. Maybe I should have now? C'est La Vie!
Nice meeting some of you guys especially Aj Jones and Simon Wright.
A big thank you to Marham and all who got this night together.

Dave
