Ones that got away..... Return day trip flight to Germany from West Raynham 1975 in a Hercules delivering a serviced Bloodhound and returning with one that needed servicing. I was taken off the flight deck after engine start by a misinformed officer who said I needed a passport or I'd be arrested on landing in Germany. If I'd stayed on the Herc no one would've been any the wiser, it was quite a regular jolly apparently. Flight in a 115 Sqn Argosy at Laarbruch 1977, I was put forward and confirmed for the flight but the ATC officer in charge of the camp for the week substituted one of his favourites, there was uproar in the billet. At least I got a 15 minute go on the Buccaneer simulator as a result.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Okay, where to go with this after so many years:
USS Wasp Portsmouth, ship visit and allowed to sit in the cockpit of an A-4C
Twenthe AB Open Day; Red Arrows Gnats ultra low break over the crowd, one blew a marquee over with his jet blast.
Flying out to Kenya via Muharraq on a VC-10 for a 10 day deployment, returning by C-130 via Ryadh and Cyprus.
Annual deployments to Decimommannu for weapons camp, a day on the Frasca Range and a low-level trip around Sardinia in a Jaguar T2.
D-Day Anniversary flypast over the Solent with 2 US carriers and most of the Royal Navy anchored off Spithead
So many other flights, airfield visits, airshows and experiences over the years
George

Great thread. Need some photos and videos of some of the posts as they sound fantastic and would be great to see.

Here we go then
1. Super Puma flight from Meiringen to the AXALP range to watch the Swiss Air Force live fire exercise. The flight down was superb, diving off the side of the mountain and not being able to hear anything when I got off due to the pressure change! :D
2. Flight over AMARC. Arrived at Tuscon IAP and climbed aboard our C172 and had to wait to depart as four AZ ANG F-16s taxied past and departed in front of us, with one almost hitting a Coyote.
3. Being 2m from the active runway at Campia Turzii in Romania as a Romanian Air Force MiG-21 departed on full afterburner. I stepped back a little when the next one and the ANG F-15s departed.
4. The Operational Intergration Exercise at Kleine Brogel. A memorable day with a good mix of aircraft and stunning weather.
5. Sitting in the cockpit of a B-52 and Turkish Air Force Phantom at RIAT.
