I wonder how many of those who advocate the sending in of ground troops would be willing to stand in a line to volunteer if the situation arose.

We all know what we would like to see happen to these evil monsters, but would be willing to actually do it individually. Any further response must be very carefully considered as I am sure we do not wish to see any members of our armed forces meeting the same fate as the poor Jordanian airman.

What ISIS did to that Jordanian pilot was absolutely horrific, and I fully understand the Jordanians response by executing two of these monsters in return.
However, that wont stop ISIS and it is very likely that things will now escalate even further. Jordan may well increase their attacks on ISIS, but they may even ask Israel for military assistance to fight ISIS, and we all know that Israel are one country which probably would consider nuking this scum off the face of the planet.

What with this going on and the deteriorating situation in Ukrane, we are certainly living in some very worrying times :( .

And there's plenty more where that came from!

PURE EVIL :grr:

I can only see a nuclear weapon stopping ISIS in its tracks and maybe the only situation in this world where the use of it would actually help bring peace, well if all nations agreed on the action.

It will never probably happen but if a North Korean national was murdered by these people then I think the game would of already been over for them by now.

Ummm nope! North Korea does not have the means to do anything and are probably financing the evil scum anyway! Israel will not help Jordan, why would they when Jordan has done so much ill towards them! no conflict should ever come to using nuclear weapons, collateral damage to surrounding harmless civilians would be immense, and the fallout would be far reaching, both radioactive and political!

Nukes isn't the way forward a concerted multi-national operation is.

No need for masses of troops on the ground as yet

We know where they are my plan would be

B52's/Cruise etc. to soften them up, strikes day & night not let up to wear them down from what the news tells us (if it can be believed) most of the civvies have already fled.

Back up the B52's with tactical precision bombing with the gloves off

The key is it needs to be a multinational effort with Arab nations standing alongside the rest of the world to show them we can be united against evil.

Oh in in my world anybody who has left a UN recognised nation to go & fight for these animals automatically looses all rights to a passport or nationality, yes the Human Rights brigade may well complain but I don't see IS following many human rights policies either.

the problem is ISIS are where the civilians are, they will hide, it is already an International effort with at least six Arab Nations taking part, most importantly Iran who actually started bombing ISIS last June, a good eight months ago, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Morocco, the Emirates and Saudi Arabia to name a few have joined the campaign to halt ISIS, and I imagine Jordan will increase their contribution! Precision is what is needed not indiscriminate carpet bombing, civilians matter wherever they are!

Well said RVA. The method of killing Moaz al-Kasasbeh was intended to antagonise Muslims and divide opinion in Muslim countries, Jordan's reaction won't actually cause ISIS any lost sleep, why would they want a failed suicide bomber back ? All they've done is create yet more 'martyrs', they won't have dissuaded any potential ISIS recruits. This morning I heard the ISIS view of women and their place in society, absolutely despicable.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

In my opinion one of the most important factors to come out of this rise of ISIS is the fact that Iran, the Kurds and Syria are all working together with the other participating Arab countries, alongside the likes of Britain, France and the USA, it is quite significant that Iran above all are working in co-ordination with the USA during this campaign against ISIS. One would hope that this may continue even after, God willing, ISIS are stopped and annihilated, and that this could be a start of a change in relationship and a new understanding of how we all live, and survive together as one species, ok I'm just hoping some lasting good will come of it and the poor Jordanian pilot, God rest his soul, will not have perished in vain!

If we go in there throwing high explosives around indiscriminately killing civilians then we've let them set the agenda: violence. These people feed off our hatred. That's one of the reasons they're producing videos of every horrible thing they do. Actions like this should instead incite us to build even stronger coalitions. It's going to be a long road, and there will be more repulsive videos, but we need to remain above their level and not lose sight of the big picture. Our morals are not just different to theirs, they are better, and that's ultimately why we will prevail.
