I find it so frustrating with their coverage - exactly as you say hurriedly cut angles. Can not be there so planning on watching on my big screen tv with my surround sound on. Might try another channels coverage.

Something specialist like that is probably your best bet. Sadly I think (for all news channels, not just the BBC) an aircraft flypast is not really a viewer-puller; I raised the flypast in my local a couple of evenings ago and was someone taken aback at the total indifference to it which frankly I found really disappointing, main conversation point was taking bets on where Andrew would pop-up!

Cheers for the link 'reheat' - IN answer to your enquiry, Cat.1 - Erm, "NO", not there, at least.

Shame that the (laughable) commentary was SO utterly woeful

At least I had a raging good laugh

As the poor clueless Geezer was crackling his sheet of (innacurately) worded paper....

He couldn't quite make his mind up, as to which a/c type was which.

"And here are the AH.64's....... Erm, NO, sorry, they're MERLINS - Yes those are MERLINS" :'(

as a flight of AH.64 Apaches clearly went by

Then, later...... "And here are the Hawker training planes" (whaaaat ?)

"Annnnd, here are the BBMF & the Lancaster..... with TWO Spitfires & TWO Hurricanes"

- (menawhile, it's THREE Spitifres & clearly ONE Hurricane)

Already roaring w/laughter, he then stated....

"And here are the world-famous Red Arrows" as a bunch of Eurofighter Typhoons arrives, level, then, passing camera"

Jesus - He couldn't even recognize a 'tit in a brothel'

Multitude of Royal "observation" clangers, as the commentator CLEARLY did not know his ar$e from his elbow

- My niece woulda done a better job

Nice "view" (from them) BTW.......Especially "if" you like Meccano

Commentary reminded me of that 'dick', Brewer, who can't even tell his visual "Genuine Spitfire" from a passing Hurricane

Yeah, I feared that (without looking)

Camera work was SO average it was difficult to tell.

Besides - I was so rolled up laughing (hard), it coulda been a Macchi Folgore & I woulda got it wrong :thumb:

P.S ; I've had chance to re-watch it & you're right (& "him"), it WAS 2 + 2

Meanwhile....

(And I quote...) - "Sorry, These ARE Merlins..."

https://youtu.be/_SshEjHXoE0?t=2555

(Quote again....) - "And here they are - The famous Red Arrows...."

(which have suddenly turned Grey & grown canards
:thumb: )

"My mistake, sorry, these ARE the HAWKERS" :'(

Got a stiffy, seeing ALL that Meccano floating about that seemingly strange choice of location.

Well that was something special, top marks to all concerned. 70 Typhoon formation was great thundering over Charing Cross. London is extremely busy!

He actually said "This is the Battle of Britain formation with 1 Lancaster, 3 Spitfires and 2 Hurricanes" when he had all 5 aircraft in shot. The man is completely inept and can't even count, he should really find another hobby!

At 1' 30" this clip shows her Majesty's Coronation flypast. Over 300 aircraft on the ground with flights and even complete squadrons overhead.

I was at the Southbank Centre on a roof garden, great views, the crowd really cheered as the Typhoon's in the 70 formation appeared.
Thanks to all those reporting airfield departures and position reports, photos to follow.

I was on the wobbly bridge and our crowd ‘oohed’ at the 70 formation.

I wonder which 15 Typhoons did the 70 ?

I suspect it was Warlord 1-8 and Cobra 1-7 ( cobra 8 was tracking home early I think)
Warlord 1-8
ZK428
ZK365
ZJ942 29 Squadron
ZJ913 29 Squadron
ZK429
ZK381 29 Squadron
ZJ947
ZK337

Cobra 1-8 were
309
336
323
331 12 sqn
366 12 sqn
313
341
320 1 sqn

Interesting - wasn't ZJ929 on the Voyager along with ZJ914 special?

(PS I update the quoted post to include all 19 typhoons that took off from Coningsby)

Another amusing comment I heard on the way back up the M40, on Radio 5 Live (or Dead ?)

'The Queen was surprised when 15 Phantoms went over in a 75 formation'.

I am not surprised she was surprised ! I switched off the radio after that.
