We did strip out the kit from the Sentinels as they were going for scrapping till the ahem US offered more than the scrapman likely would have.
Thats aside from the small matter of refitting them and they would have needed a fair amount of £££.....

Re: Falcon 900s will be BAe 146 replacements...
Because it isn't simply a case of stripping them out. They are very heavily modified structurally and to de-mod back to original condition would cost millions to do and many many man hours to achieve

Assuming you don't work in aviation engineering or operation, these aircraft will have been so different to the standard GX that they would have been almost impossible to de-mod to a standard anywhere near the certification needs for a GX. There would have been significant structural mods needed, and also avionics and power and toilets and amenities and such so as to render no savings and cost a lot more even if it were possible.

https://www.raf.mod.uk/news/articles/la ... Kp5Da11s0UA new aircraft type to Royal Air Force service is to be named the ‘Envoy IV’ in a nod both to its crucial role in defence diplomacy and to previous Envoy aircraft in RAF service.
Two new Dassault 900LX aircraft have been purchased to replace the BAe146 aircraft that were withdrawn from Service in March. The new Envoy aircraft will be based at Royal Air Force Northolt with No 32 (The Royal) Squadron, initially under contract with Centreline AV Ltd. For the first two years, the aircraft will be operated by mixed crews of RAF and Centreline staff, before upgrading to a full military and operational capability in 2024.
Enhancing our international presence, deepening our current defence relationships, and building new ones, is critical to UK security. The new Envoy aircraft will transport members of The Royal Family, government and military leaders around the world more quickly and efficiently than before. The Envoy can fly further, faster, and more sustainably than the aircraft it replaces.
The name reflects the role of the aircraft in defence diplomacy and relationship building. The original Envoy aircraft in RAF service was known as the Envoy III. It was a twin-engine light transport aircraft, used by the RAF before and during World War 2 in the communications role; one of which served with the ‘King’ s Flight’ – a precursor to today’s No 32 (The Royal) Squadron.
Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Strategy), Air Vice-Marshal Simon Edwards said:
“I am delighted to be able to announce the naming of our new Command Support Air Transport aircraft as the Envoy IV. The name reflects our proud heritage, heralds the arrival of a new aircraft type, and recognises its important mission. The fleet – and those who make it fly - play a key role in the future of UK Defence, moving quickly to build and strengthen partnerships, relationships and influence across the globe

So is that Dassault Falcon 900 Envoy IV CC1?
Or perhaps just Dassault Envoy IV?
The MOD seem to have given up with naming conventions recently.

If you call the mid 1980s recently? F-4J(UK).
I don't think the A109s of the Army and Shawbury and Dauphins of the Navy and Army have ever had variants designated in the conventional way. And these days the American types are all more commonly referred to by their system - C-17A, RC-135W, even the Sentry is more commonly referenced as E-3D rather than AEW1.
Apologies for the drift. Anyhow are we going to have some stripes on the Falcons to make them more interesting?

Stripes? Let's hope they don't copy what Condor are doing to their jets right now!

Reminds me of the old JASDF Aggressor schemes on their F-104’s.

I wonder if cancellations increase when people learn they were flying on that!
