Don't know anything about flying a TU.22, but I guess all he had in those conditions was a radar altimeter and a vsi to work out his flare, I think he realised he was in trouble about 60ft. The power comes up, but the
r o d wasn't arrested enough. It was definitely too hard for the airframe to take, reminding me of some MD 11 structural failures, where if it was a really hard landing, one or other of the wings would fail, and the aircraft would then roll onto it's back. We have no idea why the landing here was being attempted, and maybe they were just giving it a try before diverting elsewhere [if possible] and pushed their decision limits too far. Sad. Too late for a go-round.

Incidentally, following some computer problems, raptor 9 is the new handle for the old-timer JEM 60 :thumbs:
