A flyby about 10 miles away. Good luck with that. Personally Farnborough is off this year.

A flyby is better than nothing.

From aerobatics to flypasts -

Operations Director Pride in London, the UK's largest LGBT event said: “Pride in London is delighted to accept the offer of a flypast by the Red Arrows. Nine jets from the world-renowned Royal Air Force (RAF) Aerobatic Team will perform a red, white and blue flypast for thousands at the event on Saturday, 25 June".

Yes, the times they certainly are a-changin' .... could the words "Aerobatic Team" be under threat? Just asking.

How often do they have to do the full display to keep their PDA? At this rate they need to nip back to Akrotiri for a refresher. I'd also be worried that with a limited display the bean counters would be looking to hire 4 Extras in their place. :grr:

Maybe we should open a book on what shows this year the reds will actually be able to display at...

But I agree at this rate the new restrictions will put questions in the mind of the beancounters

Bearing in mind that the US teams are out of action at the moment, I suggest that the Reds get a quick tour of the States (where they will be totally respected), fill in the gaps and call the season off in the UK.

Not so, the Thunderbords are flying displays again and I believe the Blue Angels took to the air this past week too.

And what about the delightful Frecce Tricolori, and Mr Soebergs wonderful Dutch options, not forgetting the transonic F35s.

I don't actually get the point here, this is the first time the Reds have done this event in any capacity and the new regs make no difference here whatsoever as a fly by is all they would ever have been allowed to do over London. That all Her Maj ever gets too. So in this instance old regs and new regs are exactly the same.
I think there is a big over reaction here overall, the Reds will perform many full displays over the season and the ones actually curtailed due to the new regulations I suspect won't even reach double figures.
Cheers
Mark

Greetings 'bizfreeq'

You say you don't get the point. Read the post by 'Supra' that went before yours, now he gets the point 100% with a wonderfully wicked sense of humour to boot, adding spice and garnish of his own in goodly amounts. :D

In these times where some have frayed nerves - you know with all this EU Project Fear utterings doing the rounds - it is vital that we maintain a sense of humour. The Reds will always be our Reds, just sometimes one has to also see the (inventive) humour in situations.

Or derogatory to those who are of that orientation.

I myself am happily married (to a woman) but I can't help but think that kind of humour violates the forum rules?

I am at a loss with your reply here as my post has absolutely no relation to Supras whatsoever and was in direct reply to the one quoted which was a serious one. As for the sense of humour being wonderfully wicked, I think offensive is the actual word you are looking for there. Even as a straight man I can see no humour in the first part of the post even though it was thinly veiled as being ''from a homophobic group''. And the second part was nowhere near humorous either.

I'm in agreement with you there Mark; I was actually wondering if I was ready what was in front of me or if my mind was playing tricks on me?!

Certainly not something suitable for a public forum such as this. Surprised the moderators haven't dealt with it to be honest. Rules 1 and 4 apply I believe.

It certainly goes against rule 2 in the forum rules about posting derogatory content.
