Vulcan final flight live now
Re: Vulcan final flight live now
Kyle, stop with the reasoned, sensible comments! You're putting the old boys to shame!!
Now that the flying is over, what are we going to criticise now?
Cheers

Re: Vulcan final flight live now
Well if the rumours that the VTTS guys are trying to get involved in another project are half true then I guess it won't be long before they push out you know who with his cap in hand begging again
I wonder what the original purchaser of 558 is thinking right now?

That's just what will show on arrival and departure boards. It doesn't take into account business aircraft, light aircraft or even military aircraft movements. Then you have to consider that the Vulcan would be one more aircraft that would need to be attended to by ground crew and directed by ATC. Then you have to take into account the thousands of spectators that would have inevitably shown up had DSA and XH558 not told them to stay away, who would have blocked up car parks intended for customers and staff of the airport (not spotters) and possibly even blocked access roads and crash gates. It's not all as simple as what the arrival and departure boards show.[/quote]
As someone who has been following the Vulcan there for the past 3 years.......Robin Hood has got to be one of the quietist airports in the country!!

The Shackleton return to flight?
I want 2% of GDP and I want it NOW!
Re: Vulcan final flight live now
Its amazing that people criticise PlanesTV, yet a few years ago live streaming of any event to your mobile device was the stuff of science fiction. We should be grateful they even attempted to do this. I for one think they did a good job considering.
Re: Vulcan final flight live now
For the last point at least, how busy the airport is is irrelevant.JONLITE06 wrote:

Re: Vulcan final flight live now
Yes they have, however the only thing shared is the physical pole, the infrastructure and backhaul is still separate - it was a way of improving coverage without having to go through loads of red tape with planning etc.EGVP wrote:You sound like you know what you're talking about, so I shall accept that! Of course, when those networks (well, the local cell tower!) are being saturated as everyone in the vicinity is trying to use it, you're still going to end up with the same issue.Tom.Joyce wrote:Usually a broadcaster will "bond" across multiple Sims from different carriers (usually 8 Sims - 2 from each carrier) - looking at the maps, there should be enough coverage there to do the job - 4G isn't really the issue as 3G across multiple bearers will be adequate.
Haven't a few carriers started sharing cell towers now?
In relation to another comment - yes 3 or 4 years ago it would probably have been seen as witchcraft to stream something from an event into a mobile device - I guess this issue won't happen again as hopefully they will approach a technology partner / provider to take some of the pressure off ....... It genuinely wouldn't cost the earth.
