Can't pick out any particular favorite, although there are a few I like
VC-10 Conways
Anything with a Griffon
Avon Engines - Canberra PR.9 going flat out sounds awesome
Antonov 22
I quite like the sound of Apaches too
EDIT: Sikorsky Skycranes Sound great too
I'm sure there's more that I've missed but those were what immediately came to mind
Lots of good suggestions. I would like to put forward the sound of rumbling thunder the Red Arrows make when they do the Vixen break. It's subtle but there, adding a dynamism that the other teams don't have when they do the same manoeuvre. The synchro occasional produce the same sound

A Merlin or Griffon engine heard overhead is absolutely guaranteed to get me to go outside and look up! I've watched the 'Battle of Britain' film merely to listen to the aircraft.....
Not really an 'engine noise' but love the 'chop, chop, chop' of a Chinook. Nothing else sounds like it!
The Airbus Me 109 sounded fantastic at RIAT but the Hercules gets my third vote!
The Darts on Fokker F27s remind me of watching the Channel Express ones with my dad when I was younger, and the JT8Ds on 737-200s remind me of going on holiday.
1, SR-71 engine run-ups on runway 11 hammerhead. With favourable wind conditions the sound was amplified by the Navy hangar- shake, rattle then roll!
2, A PAIR of F-111Fs spooling up on 24 was near equal to the above.
3, CF-104s anywhere. When I first heard them I wanted to sack their AMUs- give em some '3in1' at least. Glad I didn't.
