Precisely :thumb:

This should have happened years ago and it doesn't matter if it costs a bit more than the usual respray, just as long as the Royal family don't use it to fly Prince Andrew anywhere................... :'(

Given the potential PR value of this aircraft why are people on here so hostile towards this expenditure rather than say the money spent on the BBMF or the Red Arrows?

It takes more than some paint and jingoistic and nationalistic flag waving to make one proud to be British I'm afraid.

Totally agree, not a lot to be proud of these days!

Bazalgette, Telford, Bamford, Dyson Bevan(.? ) and similar people have accomplished something for which we could be proud to be British.

Any of us on FC could cobble a paint scheme for an aeroplane.

Granted that each has their own opinion of such things.

There are thousands of Great Britains but I can't have Dyson ( overseas factories) in the same sentence as Joseph Bazalgette 'the sewer king'

Massive thread creep

Perhaps the scheme could include a few famous faces in the paint work - checking first that they weren't slave drivers.

This is looking good. We are up to seven pages of wishful thinking and said machine has yet to roll out of the paint shop. Anyone want to open a book at William Hill as to what the final tally will be

Tommy Cooper's face would be great to see on both sides of ZZ336. :thumb:

Loads of people in the past have achieved great things for the UK, a heritage we should be proud of! And then we end up with a bunch of muppets progressively dismantling our heritage and everything this country has worked hard for while the rest of the world looks at us and laughs with disbelief! Doesn't matter what they paint on a plane, it won't cover up the incompetence of our government!

People have been saying the same of governments for decades - this one is just more inept at trying to cover it up!

Proud to be British...

Why not? We should all be. There are no countries that get everything right. I would far rather live here than in many other countries. You have free access to NHS, freedom of speech and even get to photograph military aircraft. 🤔
