A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

What a beautiful poem, very apt with such sad news, repect and heartfelt condolences to everyone connected to the pilot and rafat.

The irony, Mark, is that you've just pointed everyone over to their site to find out the name of the pilot.

Apologies for that, as an ex-member of the armed forces with experience in this sort of tragedy, I should have known better, sorry.

Can I just say that this isn't a competition to see who's first to name the dead pilot - I am as gutted as everyone else.

Please do not post quotes from the Daily Fail in the OTT/Heads-up section - wait until the pilot is offically named.

I was thinking the same. This is an awful day for the Reds - and far worse for the family of the pilot. It seems there is a race to see who can name the pilot first - as though it is some kind of quiz show. Please let's show respect - that most on Fighter Control usually do.

"The RAF said its thoughts were with the pilot's family. It confirmed Red Arrows training had been suspended, but that RAF's Hawk T1 fleet would still fly."

May the pilot rest in peace.

Thoughts and condolences with th families and friends of the pilot.

Least they have the knowledge he went doing the one thing he probably loved most and at one of the peaks in his career, though how unfortunate this particular incident is.
