Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
159360 (along with 159357) was here in June 1982 with Jimmy Carter. Logged both then.
As an aside I logged 159351 at Point Mugu open house in October 1982 - hangared with another VH-3, 1 VH-IN and 2 CH-53D of HMX-1. POTUS must have been in Calirfornia or due.

I hadn't started spotting in 1982. I was still at primary school (just!)Typeflyer wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:26 am159360 (along with 159357) was here in June 1982 with Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter was not president in 1982, that would be in the Reagan era.Typeflyer wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:26 am159360 (along with 159357) was here in June 1982 with Jimmy Carter. Yes, you are correct, my error. It was Ronald Raygun.Alf wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 1:00 pmJimmy Carter was not president in 1982, that would be in the Reagan era.Typeflyer wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:26 am159360 (along with 159357) was here in June 1982 with Jimmy Carter. Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
I need 351 - my last one which is disappointing as I have since learned it was in Lakenheath close to Mildenhall 1989 airshow day and at Heathrow in 1991 so I can't understand why I need it but I do. I really don't want to go to Culdrose from Norfolk as I only went to Plymouth recently for the MAG choppers.
Trouble with the 'Olden days' you could wander around blissfully unaware of a decent pot only a few miles away.
Sounds like MV-22 are staying in the SW if CH-47F turn up for the London sector?

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
It is indeed a long way but it depends how badly you want to clear them ;-)
It’s one of my last three, I will be going lol.
I’m curious though. Where did you see 358 please? Most people that I know (inc me) need that one. Good luck!
Regards
Mark

159354 appears to be the 4th VH-3D and reported by Touchdown as visiting Mildenhall earlier. Anyone know current whereabouts as not plotting on trackers.

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
Sorry I do need 358 I thought that was NAWC not HMX-1
So I need two
(354 should be back at Northolt after its Mildenhall run )

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
Simple's answer, 159358 and 159360 were both at Heathrow on 4th June 1984. Also around which I logged on 6th June 1984 at Northolt were two additional
VH-3's 159357 and 159359.
VH-3's 159357 and 159359.
Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
354 is indeed back at Northolt.
Thanks for the answers re 358. 1984 is waaay before my spotting time...

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
159351 was among the shrubbery in Regents Park, London on 2.6.89
Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
159351 was at Northolt on 1st June 1989 and Heathrow on 12th July 1991. First two VH-3's I logged were in October 1970, the original VH-3A model.slogen51 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 1:34 pmI need 351 - my last one which is disappointing as I have since learned it was in Lakenheath close to Mildenhall 1989 airshow day and at Heathrow in 1991 so I can't understand why I need it but I do. Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
Wonder what the road access around Mildenhall will be like IF and when anything happens?

There is likely to be a helicopter rehearsal on Thursday too.

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
according to https://www.reuters.com/world/us/bidens ... 021-06-07/ the Thursday meeting with Boris is in Cornwall. I have no idea if he will remain at Mildenhall overnight or stay in London as usual. Given that he has not yet appointed his Ambassador to the UK he may well remain at a Covid secure Mildenhall overnight and take AF1 to Newquay the next morning. but its all guess work on my part.
Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
I don't think that it will happen on Thursday. Thursday is what would have been The Duke of Edinburgh's 100th birthday and I'm not convinced that a gaggle of helicopters will be allowed on the lawns in Windsor on that day.

Re: UK G7 2021- Tittle Tattle
Just heard item on local news
No details as I was outside and heard through the window
There was mention of AF1 going to Mildenhall if that helps anyone.
Will update if I catch it again.
