It's all in the eye of the beholder..

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Sorry, but personally I don't have an issue with this. The aircraft can still be used for military purposes ( not in theatre perhaps) and we all spend a lot of time bemoaning the fact that they have taken off squadron marks for instance. Lots if aircraft around the world have special paint jobs to promote their country/military. Think RIAT for example look at all the special schemes we often see from overseas forces.
Will be interesting to see what finally appears

Reading some of the replies on here is what I imagine a Labour conference to be like, all doom and gloom. Get it painted with the biggest Union flag on it possible and start flying it all round the World making a statement, we're here and open for business(well will be soon).
How much is BA going to charge the Government for each use of a B747(I've seen mention of £25k per hour), also civil airliners don't have mil/secure commc or ECM/RWR systems fitted.
Put it into perspective £100K(not £900K) is pocket change when you compare it to the £42m that the Scottish Government wasted on converting the SECC in Glasgow into a makeshift hospital, that has never had one patient cross it's threshold and was never needed in the first.
Couldn't have said it any better myself.

So, after Brexit, if Scotland go for independence and Ireland unify, as talked about, the Union Jack will be obsolete! So who will this paint scheme be representing?

Why pick out the SECC Glasgow?… England had the Nightingale hospitals in London , Birmingham, , Manchester , Bristol, Harrogate etc.. hardly if ever used.. but there if needed.. was that all a huge waste too?

and how many years down the line is that going to happen? We all know that in politics these things will take many years to settle ( if ever).
The Voyager will probably be close to its out of service date if ever Scotland gets independence. In the meantime to have it painted in patriotic ( a dirty word these days) colours seems a great plan to me.

Scotland could have another referendum next year and if they vote for independence it could be obsolete by the end of next year! I can't help thinking that anything Boris does is little more than a vanity project! He does little to represent the country and its people!

I like the look of it, I suspect the reason it doesn’t look like something from the 1960s or 80s is because this is the 2020s.

I used Glasgow as I live in Scotland. I know how much it cost, I know it’s never been used and I know there was never the need for it in the first place. It was all about keeping up appearances with our neighbours. However that’s going down a political path and off subject:

So why did you bring it up in the first place? If by chance the pandemic had been worse and there was a break out in Scotland, would we be exporting our sick to London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Harrogate etc..

Merely highlighting that the £100k paint job is a fraction of what’s being wasted elsewhere, the SECC is one example, there’s many more.

Union Jack and Union Flag are equally correct wherever flown. See here:

A. There will be no new referendum offered next year or any time soon.
B. The sensible folk of Scotland would reject it again anyway.
