Re: Which ATC Squadron are/were you a member of?
Sadly due to an old School Playground ( Football) injury which forced me to also quit Cubs/ Scouts as well I unfortunately couldn't join the Air Cadets which I am most disappointed in.

Re: Which ATC Squadron are/were you a member of?
342 (Ealing & Brentford Squadron) 1972-1974.
Attended two summer camps, RAF Wyton and RAF Swanton Morley. I remember Wyton being fairly busy with Victor's, Canberra's amd Comet's with regular touch and go's from the nearby RF-4C's from Alconbury. Did an AEF flight in a Chipmunk (WD373) from here.
We used to have regular trips to White Waltham for trips up in Sedburgh's or Cadet's (I managed flights in XA311, WG499 and VX275). The week after the summer camp at Swanton Morley I stayed on for an extra week and took my Gliding Proficiency Certificate.
During that week one of the instructors told us a tale of a glider launch (winch launch) which was about to occur when the cadet gave the all clear, when within seconds two WGAF Starfighters appeared from the direction of the North Sea at tree top level; well F-104's were difficult to see at the best of times, only the plume of smoke must have given them away.
Happy days!

1157 D/F in Helston, Cornwall from 1985 to 91.
Reasonable amounts of flying from Culdrose & RAF St Mawgan - mainly AEF, but some Cadets got the odd trip in a Nimrod.
Annual camps to RAF Hullavington, Bruggen, Chivenor & Shawbury - only one of those still open now...
Lots of full bore shooting at Millpool (Bodmin Moor), Tregantle and even selected to shoot at Bisley. Loved firing the SLR 7.62mm & L81 competition rifle. Even fired a Lee Enfield .303 when I was 14... my God did that hurt my shoulder!!!
Good times - I was quite a quiet youngster, so it really brought me out of my shell!

Re: Which ATC Squadron are/were you a member of?
I was 115 sqn (peterborough) 1966 - 70
Reached the dizzy heights of Staff Cadet LOL (lanyard)
Chippie Flying was at Newton and Cambridge
Gliding course at 644 GS Spitalgate - did my solos in the summer of 69 (someone should write a song about that
)
In 1970 I joined the RAF as an apprentice at Halton (as a rigger - A Fitt A as was then)
Whilst at Halton I joined 613 GS as a u/t instructor and qualified as a P2 (later - G1) - I really enjoyed taking cadets flying !
On my last tour at Abingdon (1980 -83) I was on UEF (university engineering flight) - we looked after all the Chippies and Bulldogs on the unit. All the aircraft were operated from a dispersal/apron on the far side of the airfield and I was often i/c the line for 6 AEF,once again really enjoyed helping out with cadets and blagged loads of chippie flying whenever there were no cadets to fly
.
I finally retired from aircraft spannering xmas 2015 !

Re: Which ATC Squadron are/were you a member of?
Rather late joining this topic - only just noticed it. I was in 763 (Kingston High School) sqn. in Hull during the late 50's. Flew in Chipmunks from Church Fenton, Hastings from Dishforth and, at camp at Waterbeach, flew in Anson and a memorable GCA check flight in a Meteor T7. Waterbeach operated Javelins and Hunters at the time. I went to the armoury there for my "useful work" bit and help dig out an Aden cannon barrel from the sand at the end of the range. They'd test-fired it the day before and someone forgot to lock the barrel into the breech block. After the first round, nobody could work out where the barrel had gone!
I wanted to join the RAF after leaving school, but ended up joining Shell as a chemical technician, instead. ATC gave me love of being airborne and, in total, I've logged 190 hours flying, over 65000 miles and 38 aircraft types, as a passenger on 126 flights.

Re: Which ATC Squadron are/were you a member of?
I was a member of 90(Speke) Squadron, Merseyside wing based at what was the old Speke Airport. Did three summer camps 1959 RAF Upwood, 1960 RAF Middleton St George and 1961 RAF Watton none of which exist today as RAF airfields Middleton St George now a civilian airport. I did gliding at RAF Harwarden. A few years ago I visited the new headquarters of 90 (Speke) and was impressed although it lost a bit of the old atmosphere not being located on an airfield but I was glad to see it's still going strong. Once I have sorted out how to post pictures I still have the photo's from the three camps. I remember while at summer camp at RAF Upwood we went on a visit to the USAF base at Alconbury the facilities compared to Upwood where fantastic it even had it's own baseball pitch. I remember they had RB66 photo reccy aircraft based there at the time far larger than the canberras we had.
