I got off the Tube at Baker St and saw two VH-3Ds land in Winfield House. Waiting for them to take off with camera ready!

Has anyone got any idea where the VH-3s and MV-22 will land this afternoon for Obama's visit to Downing Street?

Probably an obvious answer, but I presume the reference to Regents Park is the US Embassy that is located in the park.

Might be Regents Park again, yet it could be Buckingham Palace as they went via there on the recce flight the other day, Downing Street is at the other end of the Mall (30secs in a car from The Palace), or Horse Guards Parade right next door. I'm next to Downing street all day so will find out in an hour or so.

On the familiarisation flight, after Windsor they flew down the river over BP and Hyde Park, but didn't land there. However it is possible they may land in BP or perhaps, Horse Guards?
Jamie, if your around Downing St. Is there any clues there of more closures or barriers than normal in these locations?

Looks like the normal barriers plus a few more for the Marathon on Sunday. Nothing too mad!
Cheers! Jamie

Hmm, I'm willing to gamble on Winfield House again, but really not sure!

The US Ambassadors residence is off Regents Park the current US Embassy in in Grosvenor Sq till the end of this year when they move into a brand new building in Nine Elms south of the river.

Assuming its finisehd by then.

Thanks for that info Vulcanone :)

I have no local knowledge of the immediate area at this time, as I am sure applies to most users on the forum.

So, was the inner London air hub today the Ambassadors residence, the Embassy or Regents Park which I have walked through many times?

Is Winfield House the Ambassador's residence, often referred to as Regents Park on here.

Over the last two day's most of us will have see all of the above, which probably are the same place.

They've been operating in and out of Winfield House, which is located within the grounds of Regent's Park, which is why it's been referred to as both/either names.

Thanks DeanW.

So presumably that is the Ambassador's residence, not the Embassy.

The BBC Breakfast reporter (live) said that he travelled on AF1 from Saudi, then on an MV-22 from Stansted into the Embassy and later would go to Windsor on an Osprey from the same place.

But it was dark, so how was he to know where he was!

These things do cause confusion sometimes :D

Doesn't look like any helicopter activity today, unless not published.

So a late morning to noon departure for AF1 tomorrow then? And does anybody know where it's parked at STN?

Thanks
