Saudi Air Force Herks

Post by jamesg23 » Mon Aug 31, 2015 4:04 pm

Quick question. Do the Saudis have any grey coloured herks or are they all desert camo?

Many thanks, james.

Pretty sure they're all desert camo...

Just asking as I saw one leaving taif today that was grey but with a green badge on the tail. Pakistani maybe?

We only ever see a tiny fraction of the Saudi C-130s in the UK, and a lot of the other RSAF fleets are also going grey, so there's a good chance the C-130 fleet is doing the same.
You want the Aladeen news, or the Aladeen news?

No grey RSAF Herks AFAIK, and only one other type in the fleet has/is going grey (that i can think of!) :)

Not really, are the current Hawks going grey (as in a scheme change)? The new ones may be when delivered, but i thought we were referring to current aircraft 'going grey' (ie. the current Herks)? Any new J-model Herks may be delivered grey, but just like the new Hawks, they will always have been grey, not gone grey! Tornado IDS are the only fleet 'going grey', hardly lots.

We sometimes had HZ 129 and similar in at Warton.

Going back to this subject, there is a picture of the first RSAF legacy C-130 now painted in grey camo, with C-130H 465.
This now makes them the second of the existing fleets to change their scheme from desert camo to grey, after to Tornado IDS.

The KC-130J's were only delivered about 3 weeks ago, this thread stems from August last year.

Let me try wording it another way... the RSAF have now started re-painting their old Herks grey. First one pictured ;)

Q. What's the difference between a Forumite who doesn't read previous posts & a Computer??

A. You only have to 'punch-in' the information once on a computer! ;)
