TV Heads-up/Reminder - Guy Martin: Last Flight Of The Vulcan

Post by Dazza37 » Sun Nov 29, 2015 1:34 am

Channel 4 tonight, 19:30-21:00, 29th November.

If the programme he did on the Spitfire build is anything to go by, this should be well worth watching!

Did manage to maintain interest for full 90 mike hoping for the full QRA scramble, but people should note it takes years of training not 5 minutes to obtain full capability on aircraft systems.

Will have to contact Duxford, to see when I can taxy the K1A Victor that I worked on in the sixties.

Great air to air shots and a positive programme, so much better than the BBC managed a few weeks back.

I thought it was a great program & a fitting tribute to the last days of flight & those that worked on her keeping her airborne for us.

You have to remember that the program is aimed at the mass market rather than those with extensive knowledge.

Guy's style & enthusiasm that he puts into these programs is great.

Too much of peoples' faces and insufficient aircraft footage but I am just a grumpy old man.

Better than nothing.

Well without all those "peoples faces" the aircraft would have never been restored & never got off the ground!

Great documentary with Guy & a great insight into what happened behind the scenes with the people that made it happen

What an excellent programme.

Many thanks to all of the guys who had a part to play in keeping her flying and bringing pleasure to millions of spectators over the past few years.

My comments are about the programme content, not the efforts of the workers who brought the aircraft to flying condition. As I recall, I lobbed in quite a few pounds towards it's upkeep.

In my opinion the aircraft is the Celebrity not the close up of faces. In a similar fashion, I prefer not to watch programmes of wonderful landscapes when there is a figure slap bang in the middle of the scene.

No-one has to agree with my opinion. Please feel free to form one of your own & post it. :D

Great programme. Guys enthusiasm would have kept a lot of peoples interest that may have turned over I reckon. Great air to air film and a great insight into the Vulcan past and present.

Shame its all over.

It was a great 90minutes, all the more so when I spotted myself on it when I should have been at work!

Cheers
