An RAF pilot from Yorkshire has been named as one of two new Red arrows pilots who will take to the skies next season.
Flight Lieutenant Si Taylor from Leeds has just joined the famous nine who're based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
He will now undergo extensive training ahead of the formal display season next year. Si will be Red 3 and says it took him two attempts to get in. He is apprehensive and excited:

Why is the fact that one of the new pilots is from Yorkshire deemed to be newsworthy, whilst where the other one hails from is not?

The original news article came from the local Yorkshire / Lincolnshire ITV news, so of course they were going to put a local spin on the article. I was just about to power the computer down for the evening and didn't get around to changing the title to something different.
