North Notts Crash, Help required.

Post by beefsteak » Fri Jan 15, 2010 9:20 pm

Please I'm going potty.!!!

I was reading this link I picked up off of here

http://www.oldairfields.fotopic.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And came upon a memorial to a Tornado / Cessna crash in North Nott'm, at a place called Mattersey Thorpe. This occured whilst I was working abroad (1999), and I didn't hear anything about it . I've spent a bit of this afternoon doing a g..oogle search but have so far drawn a blank, any body point me in the right direction please ??

This was a Tornado from the TTTE at Cottesmore IIRC. There was a report on the AAIB website but whether it's still there or not I'm not sure. I'll see if I can find it.

I read this last night. Very interesting but at the same time very sad for the people involved. Highlights the importance of a good lookout. RIP

There are details about the crash in David Needham’s book ‘Nottinghamshire Air Crashes’ ISBN 978 1 84306 425 1, which is available from all good aviation bookshops priced £14.99.

Another new publication that might be of interest and is due out later this month is ‘Category Five’ which is a “re-work and extension” of ‘Lost To Service’ and ‘To Fly No More’, which has been compiled and edited by Colin Cummings. Further details can be found here!

No problem - I knew I'd seen the report online at some point.
