So how did you do in 2009?

This is mainly aimed at "numbers" people but all feel free to join in.

How did you do in 2009?

I logged 3037 airframes and made (potted) 1436. (So thats 1436 frames that I hadn't seen before for the non numbers people)

Granted, the above figures include civilian aircraft.

Out of interest, if you aren't asleep yet, my hobby total to date is - logged 45,105 / made 23,189. :pop:

Excuse my ignorance, what's the difference between logged ones and made ones?

Are made ones just one's you have seen with your own eyes? And logged ones you have heard on the scanner / sbs?

Frames wise, really good, first real year with the SBS so did rather well out of that :pop: But trips wise it was a complete tragedy! Failed with a trip to Scotland in january for the Polish MiG's which never turned up :( & from there on really, RIAT I had to pick the pee awful day, etc etc etc to my trip for the E4B in december, damn that fog! Did catch two nice U-2's though, probably one of the best bits, hadn't seen a U2 since 2002!

But im certainly looking foward to what will come in 2010 & for some reason I have a feeling it will be a good year, heres hoping!

Wouldn't then the total hobby to date logged amount be the same as the total made amount?

Nope, if you've seen a frame before you will still log it, but wont make it. The point of logging is so that you can get home, look them up & then find out if you've made the frame/reg or not. Its like collecting trading cards  You get new ones but you dont want them, so you have a total of 200, but because of doubles you only need 150...

Also the general rule is that you have to see the aircraft visually with your own eyes to count it, some people also only count it if they have seen the regristration with there eyes, so dont 'dot spot'
