Rambo `Hind`
Re: Rambo `Hind`
Don't know what happened to it but doesn't it look mean!
I remember in the Rambo III that they used it again as well as modified Gazelle with a different nose.

Re: Rambo `Hind`
Looking around the net I have found it was supplied by PHI inc , Lafayette. I have had a look at their current fleet and they no longer operate the Puma.
I guess it was returned to stock condition. I thought it may have popped up in other films but has not as far as I can see, which is a shame.
Anybody got a reg for it.
Yes it does look mean, at least as much as the real thing. An interesting thing I have found is that the pilots opinion was that the aditional wings improved the manoverability of the Puma.

Re: Rambo `Hind`
Yes the wings on the Merlin improved lift dramatically and the ducted fans improved cruise speed a lot too (Compound design from Westland)
I have some lovely pics of this merlin with the wings in print form sent to me by Westlands years ago..
I guess it worked the same way with the Puma although they were completely different in shape to the Compound Merlin (EH101).

Re: Rambo `Hind`
Was'nt the Puma/'Hind' (possibly two) used in the film Red Dawn aswell?
Re: Rambo `Hind`
I have not watched this film so I cant be sure, this web site http://www.rotaryaction.com/pages/redawn84.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; says it was the Rambo `Hinds` but could have been the US S-55 `Hind` drones.
Any more pics of these drones, they look pretty good.

Re: Rambo `Hind`
I thought they used some other types in Red Dawn but cant remember. they made them to look like the original first variant of the Hind with square windows....
That film had some good Russian kit in it, very realistic (at times) with the hardware used.
